Engineered wood floor sanding & restorationEngineered wood floors are very common now — especially engineered oak — and in many cases they can be successfully restored. The key is whether there is enough wear layer (the solid timber layer on top) to allow sanding.

Because every floor is different, the first step is always to assess:
- the thickness of the wear layer
- the condition of the surface (scratches, staining, dull walkways)
- whether the floor has a bevel, hand-scraped texture, or heavy factory finish
- how the boards are laid (plank, herringbone, etc.)
- Prepare and sand the surface carefully to remove worn finish and damage
- Carry out any appropriate filling/repairs where needed
- Refinish with a professional, hard-wearing system to restore a clean, even appearance
- Protect the floor for long-term durability and easier maintenance

- a few clear photos of the room (standing back)
- a couple of close-ups of the boards (including any worn areas)
- your rough room size (m²)
